Welcome to the homepage of The Cognitive Axon (CoAx) Lab in the Department of Psychology and the Center for the Neural Basis of Cognition and at Carnegie Mellon University.

Under the direction of Dr. Timothy Verstynen, the CoAx lab uses a combination of psychophysics, computational modeling and neuroimaging to explore how the architecture of sensorimotor pathways in the brain regulates action planning, decision making and complex skill learning.

(Note: If you’ve come here looking for zombies+brains, then please check out Tim’s new book “Do Zombies Dream of Undead Sheep?” published by Princeton University Press. That should keep you busy for about a day or so.)

“It is a truth universally acknowledged that a zombie in possession of brains must be in want of more brains.”
