Five Things to Remember (Sharon Carver, Director) At
graduations, people usually share memories of the year and give advice for the
future. Today, I'm going to tell you about some of the things that I remember
about your class and we're going to use our hands to help us remember them for
the future. How
many fingers do you have on each hand? Ok, I'm going to give you five things to
remember - one for each finger. Thumb
- (thumbs up) - You are so excited about school and about learning. I hope that
you'll put your thumbs up and remember to have fun learning. Pointer
- This year's kindergarten friends are very observant, and you like to share what
you notice with others. Look (and point)! I hope that your pointer finger will
remind you to keep your eyes open. Tall
One - The middle finger is the tallest of them all. There are so many
things that you can be proud about, so much you have learned this year. I hope
that your Tall One will remind you to stand tall and do the best you can do. Ring
Finger - We call this one the ring finger because it's usually where we
put rings, like this special one from my husband or this one from my parents.
This year you've shared so much about your families, your homes, the places where
you were born, etc. I hope that the ring finger will remind you to stay close
to your family no matter how old you get. Pinky
- The pinky is close to the ring finger but smaller and sometimes not very strong.
The friends in this class are very caring to others who are sad or hurt, like
when I broke my wrist last fall. I hope that the pinky will remind you to take
care of others and let them take care of you. So
let's review. Thumbs
up - have fun learning Pointer - keep your eyes open Tall One - stand
tall and do your best Ring Finger - stay close to your family Pinky
- take care of others and let them take care of you Thanks
for being an important part of the Children's School family and helping us all
to have fun learning, keep our eyes open, stand tall and do our best, and take
care of each other. Be sure to write and visit often so that we can stay close
as a school family. Presentation

Appreciation The
quality of our kindergarten program is primarily a result of the combined talents
of our teaching team. Miss Hancock, Mrs. Perovich, and Miss Saavedra are simply
amazing. Let's all give them a round of applause to show our appreciation. Student
Appreciation
"Children teach the world how to love. They teach us to look past a person's
skin color right to his or her heart. They teach us how to be honest, open, and
innocent. And they teach us how to hug and laugh and be enthusiastic. Children
make us keep our promises because they never forget one that we make. They even
make us into scientists and professors by asking why about everything that moves
and many things that don't." www.alphabetsoup.com Kindergarten
