Be A Star! (Sharon Carver, Director)
At
the Children's School, we often talk about themes for our learning. This year
you studied lots of themes, like Native Americans, the desert, Eygpt, and castles.
The theme for our graduation today is STARS.
When I asked you last week what you knew about stars, you told me lots of things.
Stars are lots of pretty bright lights, all around the sky, that you see at nighttime
with the moon (but also the sun is a star). Sometimes
we also talk about people being stars when they do something amazing. Today, I'm
going to use some of the things you told me about the stars in the sky to give
you ideas about how you can be a star as a person. 1)
Stars shine, glow, and sparkle. Each
one of you can brighten the world in your own unique way. A smile, a hug, a story,
a drawing, or a dance can all be gifts that help someone else have a good day.
2) The North Star guides people. Keep an eye on your guides, like
your parents and teachers. Follow their example. Also, do the right thing so that
you can be an example for your friends to follow.
3) You can wish on a shooting star. It's fun to make wishes and share
dreams about the future, but remember that dreams only come true when you work
hard and keep trying until you succeed. Lots of practice and persistence has helped
some of you learn to read, others learn to write, others learn to be a kind friend.
Keep working hard and you'll learn more every day.
4) Groups of stars make constellations. Be ready to cooperate with
others. Sometimes you can do more when you work as a group, like when you made
the big cacti, the crocodile, and the painting like Jackson Pollock. 5)
Stars are easier to see if it's dark. If we're busy and there are lots
of other lights, we can't see very many stars. Take the time to relax and watch.
You will see many amazing things in the world if you pay attention and focus on
what's important. So
let's review How to Be a Star You
can shine by brightening someone's day. You
can guide by being an example. Wish
on a star, then work hard to achieve your dreams. Like
a constellation, be a part of the bigger picture by cooperating with others.
And remember, it's easier to
observe when you focus on what's important. Congratulations
to our Stars! Thanks for being an important part of the Children's School family,
for brightening our days, for following our example and being one for the preschoolers,
for working hard, for cooperating with the friends and teachers, and for reminding
us to focus on what's really important. Be sure to keep in touch so that we'll
know all the different ways that each of you is a star. Download

of Diplomas Teacher
Appreciation The
quality of our kindergarten program is primarily a result of the combined talents
of our teaching team. Miss Hancock, Mrs. Perovich, and Miss Saavedra are simply
amazing. Let's all give them a round of applause to show our appreciation. Student
Appreciation
"Children teach the world how to love. They teach us to look past a person's
skin color right to his or her heart. They teach us how to be honest, open, and
innocent. And they teach us how to hug and laugh and be enthusiastic. Children
make us keep our promises because they never forget one that we make. They even
make us into scientists and professors by asking why about everything that moves
and many things that don't." www.alphabetsoup.com Kindergarten
