greet each child at their car or bus in front of the Margaret Morrison Building
and escort the children into school. |

Center Time 8:40-9:10

centers are open to the children including but not limited to housekeeping, blocks,
computers, games, puzzles, writing center, journal dictation, and teacher directed
projects. |
| Group
Time 9:10-9:30
am | During
group time, the children take part in group discussions, singing, games, stories,
and calendar activities. |
| Activity
Time 9:30-10:30
am | The
children engage in a variety of independent and teacher directed activities involving
language arts, social studies, math, computers, science, and art. At this time,
the children are required to complete an independent daily work assignment which
the floater will also monitor. The children also participate in cleanup at the
end of this work session. |

Group Time
Journal
Bathroom 10:30-11:00
am | Following
cleanup time, the children gather as a whole group for games, songs, or a story
with one of the teachers. After group time, the teachers accompany the class to
the rest room. |
| Lunch 11:00-11:30
am | Children
bring their own lunch and eat at a small table with their lunch group, which changes
monthly. |
| Playground
11:30-12:15
pm | Children
go outside to play every day except in extreme cold and rainy weather. Children
choose from a wide variety of activities including sand play, tricycle riding,
dramatic play in the wooden structures, ball games, climbing and sliding on the
playground structure, and other large motor games. |

Shared Reading Time
12:15-12:45
pm | At
the beginning of the year, the children have a quiet time to rest. As the year
progresses, other sections of the day are lengthened and rest time is eliminated.
Shared Reading Time is an interactive process in which the children and the teacher
read a book. During subsequent rereading, children read more and more of the text
until they are able to tell the story independently. |

Shared Reading Work Time/
Bathroom 12:45-1:30
pm | The
activities durimg this work time are based on the story the class has been reading
during Shared Reading Time. The children engage in a variety of independent and
teacher directed activities involving language arts, social studies, math, computers,
science, and art. |
| Snack
1:30-1:45
pm | The
children gather back at their lunch tables and share in a snack together, provided
by the school. |
| Work
Time 1:45-2:20
pm | During
this work time, the children participate in music activities, group science projects,
or other whole projects. |
| Prep
for Dismissal 2:20-2:30
pm | The
teachers help the children clean up the classroom, pack their backpacks, and put
on their coats. |
| Dismissal 2:30-2:45
pm | The
teachers escort the children to the dismissal area and help them into the cars
or bus. |
