"I love reading to children. When you look up from the book and their eyes are glued to the pictures and they hang on your every word, it is magical."

Linda Hancock is beginning her twentieth year as a kindergarten teacher at the Children’s School.  She graduated from Chatham College with a B.A. in Psychology as well as receiving teacher certification in Early Childhood and Elementary Education.   While teaching at the Children’s School, she earned a Masters in Education at Duquesne University.  Linda serves on the Board for the Pittsburgh Association for the Education of Young Children (PAEYC).  She proudly serves on the scholarship selection committees for the LJ Fund of The Revelli Foundation and the LJ Hancock Fund of The Pittsburgh Foundation and volunteers her time at LJ's Loft, a music academy dedicated to the memory of her brother.  Linda and her fiancé, Dennis, enjoy gardening, cooking, traveling, and the performing arts.

Donna Perovich earned a B. S. in Elementary Education from the University of Pittsburgh and an Early Childhood Certification from Chatham College.  Before coming to the Children’s School, Donna taught for three years in a private elementary school.  She joined the Children’s School staff in 1997 as the Administrative Coordinator and is now beginning her ninth year teaching in the kindergarten.  Donna and her husband, Michael, keep busy with their family business and their three children.  Ben attends the International Academy of Design & Technology, Rachel is attending Carnegie Mellon University, and Hannah is a senior at Steel Valley High School.

Alexa Broughton grew up in a small town in eastern Washington State.  She attended the University of Virginia, graduating with a B.A. in psychology and recently earned a Master’s degree in Child Psychology from Duquesne University.  Alexa is now pursuing her certification in School Psychology.  This is Alexa’s third year at the Children’s School.  Alexa enjoys reading, swimming, volunteering in adult literacy, and biking with her husband, Ellery.
