Carnegie Mellon University is hosting information sessions for two prestigious study abroad scholarships and we would like to extend an invitation to you and your students. This is open to all colleges and universities in the Pittsburgh area. We have lined up some remarkable guest speakers to provide information and share their experiences with the scholarship programs. Senior HIA fellow, Maggie Whelan, will describe the award and application process, how to construct a competitive application, and the interview process if chosen as a finalist. For outstanding sophomore, junior, and senior U.S. Citizens who would like to participate in a month-long summer program on national and international human rights issues. Winners would participate in the program in one of these six cities: New York , Amsterdam , Berlin , Copenhagen , Paris , or Warsaw . Travel costs and housing are paid for by the program. Students who attend the program qualify for a variety of internships and fellowships with various human rights groups. Local Rotary Scholarship Committee Chair Richard Beck will describe the awards available, the application process, how to construct a competitive application, and answer questions. Two Rotary scholars will also be present to share their experiences and answer questions. For undergraduate and graduate students (must have completed at least two years of university coursework or equivalent professional experience prior to beginning scholarship studies). 3-month, 6-month, 1-year, & 2-year scholarships for study abroad to promote international understanding.
