The TED project (Training in Experimental Design), led by David Klahr and Mari Strand Cary, is looking for a motivated, detail-oriented, confident undergraduate research assistant. This person will assist in transcription and coding of tutoring sessions (elementary and middle school students) and, occasionally, visit area schools to provide logistical support for tutoring sessions. Work hours and location are quite flexible (and the amount of work would vary throughout the year.) Must be a good typist, comfortable with word and excel, willing to ask questions, and able to work independently. The ideal candidate would feel comfortable working side-by-side with researchers, be willing to share their ideas and perspectives about the coding schemes and tutoring approaches, and would have some experience with analyzing transcripts/protocols. Psychology students who have taken research methods are encouraged to apply! Interested students should contact Mari Strand Cary at MariStrandCary@cmu.edu.
