Research Interests:

I am interested in the internal representations that individuals form of people with whom they share close relationships, and how these representations affect perceptions of themselves, others, and relationship events. Attachment theory suggests that these cognitive representations are particularly influential during times when individuals need and/or provide support, and I am specifically interested in the impact of perceptions on support outcomes. I am interested in exploring cognitive representations and perceptions in at least two ways: (1) understanding and defining the nature of the representations, and (2) observing the impact of the representations on dynamic interactions in close relationships.
