Research Interests:

I am interested in the relationship between mind and body in the context of physical and emotional health and stress reduction. My research focuses on mindfulness meditation, including the relationship between implicit (nonconscious) and explicit (conscious) processes, and also the role of mindfulness training in altering resting state network functional connectivity. In another line of research in self-affirmation, I am interested in the mechanisms through which writing about personal values encourages social connection and positive behavioral outcomes.
