Research Interests:

I’m interested in children’s development of mathematical abilities. Specifically, I’d like to investigate children’s numerical representation, which is their understanding of the concepts and rules of number system. I believe such underlying representation is the basis for children to learn various skills within mathematic development, including computation, measurement, and estimation, etc. In the future, I’d like to pay more attention to the way children use their mathematical abilities in social interactions, generally speaking, the interrelationship between cognitive development and social development.
