Research Interests:

I am interested in strategy selection during problem solving. More specifically, I study the factors that influence whether people choose to solve math problems with or without the aid of technology, such as a calculator. By manipulating characteristics of problems and available technology, I try to gain insight into the process by which people succeed (and sometimes fail) in optimizing their performance.
