Research Associate Position
Affective Neuroscience Laboratory

Research associate position
available in the laboratory of Golnaz Tabibnia (sds.hss.cmu.edu/src/faculty/tabibnia-golnaz.php)
at the Center for the Neural
Basis of Cognition (www.cnbc.cmu.edu)
and the Center for Behavioral Decision Research (www.cbdr.cmu.edu).
FMRI scanning will be conducted
at the new Scientific Imaging and Brain Research (SIBR) Center on the CMU
campus.
This is a 50% effort position
(schedule to be determined), with possibility of longer or shorter hours.
Duties include: recruiting and scheduling
participants; preparing
stimulus presentation programs; behavioral and psychophysiological testing;
MRI scanning; processing and analyzing
behavioral, psychophysiological,
and brain imaging data; supervising and training students; and general
laboratory administration. Research
topics include emotion regulation,
control of temptation, conflict in dyadic decision-making, and well-being.
The position includes opportunities
for research and co-authorship
of abstracts and papers.
Qualifications: B.A. or equivalent
with background in psychology, neuroscience, or computer science. Advanced
undergraduates with fMRI
experience will also be
considered. All candidates should have excellent interpersonal and organizational
skills, good computer skills, and
some research experience.
Experience
in computer programming, fMRI data analysis, and familiarity with statistics
are desirable.
One-year commitment is requested.
