What's Your Earliest
Memory?
In this casual memory exercise, you are asked to try to recall your
earliest experience. Please take a moment, sit in a comfortable chair,
and put yourself back into your childhood, i.e., think about your early
childhood (Establishing a context, even of other memories can help
recall.)
Then try to recall your earliest memory. Write a brief description of
that
memory and then an estimate of your age at the time of the event and
memory.
Questions: Finally, think about that person (you at that age)
and that memory, and ask yourself the question, "Is it me" -- that is
are
you "continuous" with that person? If not, how far back can you go and
still feel like you?
Turn in:
Your earliest memory
Your approximate age at your earliest memory.
Were there extraordinary circumstances which make it particularly
memorable?
Is your personality or identity the same now as it was then?
Any other particularly interesting information
