The Siegler Center for Innovative Learning (SCIL) |
|---|---|
|
The rapid pace of change in modern societies means that, in the future, only societies with high rates of innovation will thrive. A research center combining ideas from China and the U.S. regarding how to promote innovative learning can contribute to achieving this goal. The Siegler Center for Innovative Learning (SCIL) is the first center that Beijing Normal University has named for a foreign scholar. SCIL represents a new model for international collaboration that will bring together senior and junior leaders, as well as scholars and practitioners, to work on the educational challenges that both countries face. |

The Center's Mission
1. Promoting cognitive development, regardless of children's backgrounds, in ways that increase both the number of outstanding innovators and the number of people who are competent. 2. Bringing together Eastern and Western educational leaders and scholars in live meetings, webinars, and 1:1 interactions to tackle the educational challenges facing both countries. 3. Conducting research and developing instructional materials that will help educators from China and the West. |
